Absolutely NOT exciting news. There’s lots of things I love about growing my very own small business. This community, the creativity, the flexibility, the calm it can bring me. One thing that doesn’t bring me that is bloody shipping!

Unfortunately the time has come for me to put my big girl pants on and sort this mess out.

You all know how much I love packaging your orders....it’s my love language, my way to connect and personally show my appreciation for beautiful you.

Unfortunately Australia Post doesn’t share my vision of being able to send love wherever we like at a reasonable rate.

To be fair, my products are acrylic, they are heavier than PLA stamps and cutters and being small means I don’t always qualify for those band discounts that Aus Post offer businesses that have a high turnover of postage sales.

Often I am out of pocket for my postage, particularly overseas and it can be up to $40 on some orders.

To ensure fair and accurate shipping costs for all orders, I’ve just finished setting up a weight-based shipping system. This change allows me to better calculate postage based on the actual weight of your items, rather than using flat rates.

For my domestic customers, you won’t notice a significant difference, in fact you may see some shipping at a cheaper rate than you previously have. However, this change is especially important for larger or heavier orders, and will help avoid the shortfalls I’ve previously had to absorb.

If you’re an international customer, you may see some adjustments in your shipping rates, as costs will now reflect the total weight of your order more precisely. This kills me because without International stockists I know postage is a right royal pain for you too.

I’ve weighed every product in my store and worked hard to make this transition as smooth as possible. My goal is always to be transparent and fair while continuing to offer the best service I can to remain sustainable.

There's something so completely magical about peeling back the layers. I love incorporating florals and foliage into my baked gifting. It just seems to really resonate with the thoughtfulness that has gone into creating it. These stunning little florals and foliage are from @pretty.produce I've tried baking with florals before and have had mixed success but true to form I just had to keep experimenting until I found a way to protect them from my high heat oven temp. For these gorgeous Chai tea cookies I rolled my foliage into my dough and baked with a greaseproof cover for 2/3rds of the bake time. This prevented my florals from loosing their gorgeous natural colour. I hope my MIL loves them as much as I do this Mother's Day x

I'm quietly just the tiniest bit proud of myself at the moment and I'm celebrating all of those seemingly little wins because to me... they are huge.
A couple of weeks ago I set myself a goal to create a YouTube channel!
I researched how to do that, filming formats, algorithms, sound info, uploading, compiling options, audience settings etc etc.
At times it was a little overwhelming but I persisted. I started filming "shorts" as my practice run and uploading them in the middle of the night when I thought no one would see. My sneaky little practice run.
And here we are... I've taken the leap and popped a couple of tutorials on my channel and whilst I was so damned nervous about this.. I can't believe I've done it. What comes first? The stamp or the cutter. This is what really happens behind the scenes in my little boutique business. I finish a design, send it to my laser, cross my fingers and test on any old icing I have left over. Then I go back, tweak what I need to, re-test, tweak again, take a rough kitchen top pic when I’m happy and then start designing a matching cutter. These pics are exactly that. My rough mid test process as I just ran out of time before we jetted off for a few days. All of our latest designs are on their way to our beautiful BA Bridget @crumbswithlove_ where the real testing will begin for these designs. I’m not calling this a Mother’s Day range as its intention is so much more. A celebration of the woman who became a mother. Whose identity underpinning her role as a mother remains unique and authentic. As a mum of 5 beautifully grown human beings, I’m immensely proud, there just aren’t words. I was a young Mum, learning as I went, hoping my babies would forgive the mistakes I made, the fumbling attempts to be perfect in every way and just grow into fearless, kind and adventurous young people…. And they did! I was a baby raising babies, largely unsupported by any nearby relatives and just trying my best, learning and growing alongside my little people. All I needed was love and I had plenty to share. It’s easy to assume the identity of ‘Mother’ but it takes a certain strength to remember and celebrate the women behind the most important role of your life. This collection celebrates you, your uniqueness, your strength, frailties and fears. A celebration of the beautiful woman you are. Let’s be real. Not the most practical thing for sales at Easter and a pain to package probably but these are for my beautiful Grand Babies so practicality goes out the window. When I’m baking for little people I’m always conscious of sugar overload. This way they get a nice cookie without loads of fondant.
